Advanced Training Courses – Launching Autumn 2025
From Autumn 2025, MCCS members will have exclusive access to a new series of Advanced Training Courses developed and written by the Society’s Executive Committee. These CPD-accredited modules are delivered entirely online as self-directed learning, combining expert-led video content, interactive assessments, and downloadable resources.
Designed for healthcare professionals who already understand the basics of cannabis-based medicines, each course provides clear, evidence-based guidance in key clinical areas including epilepsy, neurological conditions such as MS, spasticity and Parkinson’s, pain management for all pain conditions, geriatric prescribing, ADHD, ASD and OCD, and tackling common myths and challenges in cannabis medicine.
The programme reflects the real needs of clinicians working with cannabis-based medicinal products (CBMPs) in the UK. Members can work through each module at their own pace, testing their knowledge with assessments to reinforce learning and ensure CPD compliance. Courses include the role of nursing in cannabis prescribing, integrating treatment into general practice, an in-depth review of the endocannabinoid system, the pharmacist’s role, oncology and palliative care, gastrointestinal conditions, and recognising and managing risks, side effects and contraindications.
Written and presented by the UK’s most experienced cannabis medicine clinicians, this practical training will strengthen prescribing confidence, improve patient communication, and support safe, effective clinical decision-making.
